Paris

Before I die I would love to experience life in Paris. Seeing the Eiffel Tower, the high fashion! This is a place that I think is perfect for me.

Spring Break!

Over spring break my cousin from Detroit came to visit me. We experienced Michigan avenue and Water tower. We had blast. I didn't realize how much I missed her. She is now considering relocating to Chicago! I am very excited

My Passion for Fashion!

Ever since I was younger I've had an interest in fashion. From fashion shows as a child to critiquing family and friends on do's and don't I knew I one day wanted a career in fashion. When I brought this idea to my family they looked at me weird!! I mean their all doctors and teachers, fashion to them is just a hobby, not a respectable career. I didn't care though. After my acceptance to Columbia I was well on my way to the big city and a big exciting career. Six months later, no regrets and I'm more sure of my path than ever!

Bee's Sunday Thoughts

I currently work at a retail store downtown, and I hate it when people come in a minute before we close and try to shop. Don't people have any sense of compassion for the workers who have been there all day slaving!!! Don't they think that the workers want to get home to their families? Then, they always say "oh are you closing? I'll be quick" Bullsh#t they take their sweet time and don't even care if you turn off the lights, have your coat on, and lock the door, they still want to try things on. I hate it, this really bugs me. FYI people, if the store is about to close...DON'T GO IN!!

Perception Change

The recent death of my grandfather has changed my perception completely. He died of lung cancer and to this day I hate the smell of cigarettes. I had never had a death so close to me before. I regret not calling him as much as I could or telling him how much I loved him. At first these regrets haunted me everyday, now instead of dwelling on what I should have done, I change it to what I can do. So, every night before I close my eyes I tell him how much I love and miss him. It helps. This experience has taught me to cherish life and my body.

Turn It Up, Thats My Jam!

When I was in elementary school it was a big deal to have a Walkman that played cassette tapes. I mean who wouldn't want to listen to Mary J. Bliege's I'm Going Down while waiting for the school bus. So, for Christmas guess what was number 1 on my list...A WALKMAN! I got it, but it seems like a week (not really) later, CD players were the new thing. Of course, I begged and begged for the pink Sony CD player. I got and I loved it!! It was so much easier to listen to my favorite song over and over without having to rewind, usually to much and have to listen to half the song before it. Today, technology has gotten even better at playing those favorite jams with mp3s and Ipods. Everyone you see, has headphones attached to the small music devices. It's amazing! It's a must-have, people can't go anywhere without it, and I have to admit if I saw someone with a Walkman I'd think he were a cave man. Nevertheless, technology continues to evolve and I look forward to the next new music gadget.

Want to Bee in a Music Video??

It seems like since I was in middle school everyone I knew always wanted to be in music videos. Whether it's shaking a "tail feather" or throwing money in the camera, everybody wants to be apart of all the hype. Girls dressed in nearly nothing, to guys in nice cars and flashy jewelry. People will do anything to be in the lime light. What people fail to realize is that the artist in the videos whose life they idolize, rarely live that life in reality. However, people still strive to gain the respect, fame, and material items these artist display. In my opinion the only thing people should take from music videos is the advice from rapper T.I. to just live your life!
